Meet the CHO Team
Bob McKenna, CEO/Publisher
Bob McKenna has been involved in hockey for over forty years. As a young man Bob was invited to the California Golden Seals training camp but after a rash of injuries and realizing early on that he probably did not have the necessary skills to go all the way, he decided to get into the business world.. After various pursuits in advertising and insurance, in 2001, Bob launched a new regional hockey publication entitled ‘The Hockey Magazine’, which was dedicated to the hockey fans and players in the United States and Canada. The magazine had immediate acceptance from both readers and advertisers and did very well on newsstands. It was through this venture that Bob developed his concept of networking through minor hockey programs and looks to translate this success into the online world.
Jeremy Shahin, Managing Content editor
An avid hockey fan and player, Jeremy has been following the game of hockey ever since he was old enough to turn on a radio. As a self-professed student of the game, Jeremy hopes the greater minds in the hockey world will continue to search for ways to improve on an already exciting product. Jeremy and the great country of Canada share something in common; hockey first, ask questions later.

In his spare time he collects Beatles memorabilia and works on his classic ’65 Mustang.
Benjamin Ryder Czepita-Wells, Business Manager
Benjamin Wells is a Marketing and Business Administration graduate who is deeply passionate about hockey in Canada. Ben has been involved with hockey on many levels for his entire life, from representing school and district hockey teams as a player to coaching children’s hockey. After having travelled Europe and the Middle-East, Ben returned to Toronto to complete his education. After having worked in Marketing and Advertising during school, Ben joined Canadian Hockey Online as Manager of Finance and Operations.
Best Sports Moment: Ben scored a goal on a breakaway in sudden-death overtime to win the league and championship. Received concussion from raucous celebration that ensued.
Sarah Malagerio-Bruno, Associate Editor
Sarah Malagerio-Bruno holds a BA(Hons) from the University of Toronto. Previous editorial roles landed Sarah in the front row of Fashion Week and behind the scenes of the billion-dollar women’s magazine industry. After finally understanding the difference between lip gloss and lip balm, Sarah realized the only front row that matters is the one behind the glass on game day.
Shahab Khan, Associate Editor
A husband to a beautiful and wonderful lady, a father to a handsome and strong son, Shahab grew up with hockey being a big part of his life. This passion translated onto Canadian Hockey Online with every contribution. Growing up in Montreal, Shahab is a die-hard Canadiens fan and hopes his team will take a step forward towards another Stanley Cup.
Ben Kenworthy, Video Editor
Ben is a Broadcast Journalism Graduate who was born in Calgary and raised in Toronto, he patiently waits for one of his hockey teams to make it back into the playoffs. Stanley Cup Dream Final = Calgary vs Toronto.
Michael Norman, Video Editor
As a product of the GTA, young Michael Norman defied all odds... by becoming a fan of the illustrious New York Rangers! Somehow avoiding Leafs Nation propaganda at every turn; Mike Norman endeared himself to the names of Messier, Kovalev, Leetch and Richter.
Now the older, and mildly wiser Michael Norman, lives with an affection for not just the NYR's, but the hockey universe! He's a fan of any dirty dangle by Datsyuk, or any saucer pass by the Sedins. (probably Henrik)
Mike has been involved with video projects in music, documentary and sports for the past 5 years, specializing in web video. He loves to write, shoot, and edit anything he can get his hands on..
Craig Rock, Advertising Director
Craig is a life-long Leafs fan and says he bleeds Blue and White. While suffering may be the norm when it comes to his favourite team, he believes that victory will be that much sweeter when the Leafs finally raise the Stanley Cup! With a passion for all things hockey, Craig joined the CHO team in 2012 and brings with him extensive sales and public speaking experience. For the last two years he has been serving as an Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces.
Aaron Sinukoff, Account Manager
A recent graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Aaron worked the last two years in the London Knights Marketing Department and part-time in their merchandise storefront. He was an integral part of planning the 10th anniversary season at the John Labatt Centre, and designed the 2011-12 warm-up jersey, game-day puck, and a variety of promotional materials.
A fan of the Leafs, Blues and teams that play smart hockey, Aaron is also a huge baseball fan, playing since the age of 4. In his spare time, Aaron is an aspiring stand-up comic and improviser, lover of cooking, travel, music and making fun of ridiculous hometown commentators.
Brad Lecours, Account Manager
I am currently finishing my education at Ryerson University, with a major in Science and Technology and a minor in Marketing. I've played hockey since I can remember and watched since before that. Hockey has always been a big part of my family and I look forward continuing that with my children. I jumped at the opportunity to work for Canadian Hockey Online because helping to spread the hockey word is always well worth it!
Ryan Ellis, Account Manager
Hockey has always played a big role in Ryan’s life. He put on his first pair of skates at the age of two and has never looked back. Ryan played 5 years of Jr.A in the OPJHL before receiving a partial scholarship to Oswego State in New York. There Ryan graduated with a B.S in Business Administration, and a Minor in Athletic Coaching. While at school he also played 4 years for the Oswego State Lakers hockey team in the NCAA. During his time with the Lakers he was fortunate to win a National Championship, Player of the Year award and be named an All-American.
Carole Smith, Account Manager
Carole grew up in a very small town where hockey was all people talked about in the winter months. She graduated from Canadore College with a business administration degree, and brings several years of sales expertise to the CHO team. As a well rounded sports fan, she also enjoys the Blue Jays and Toronto Argonauts. She hopes in the near future the Leafs will bring home the Stanley Cup.
Ben Bergmann, IT Manager
Ben is the code and IT manager who sees to it that all things web are working for Canadian Hockey Online. A Toronto native he remembers being at the last Maple Leaf victory parade in 1967 and patiently waits for the day they are once again in possession of Lord Stanley's Cup.
